Frequently asked questions
Exsy Io is an AI assistant, created by Expert System. You can learn more about Exsy in her CV. Exsy’s general intelligence came from OpenAI's ChatGPT 4.0, but we additionally trained her in immigration law. It’s like sending a high-school graduate to college. With a difference though - instead of years, it takes hours. And (bonus!) - Exsy does not go blank after cramming for exams.
For the best answer, ask one question at a time and phrase it in general form, for example:
Instead of: "I'm in the process of renewing my EAD and it's been already 5 months since applied. How long does it usually take for renewing EAD?”
Ask: "How long it takes to renew EAD"

Non-revenue generating prospect/customer communication is extremely time intensive. These tasks can be assisted or fully outsourced to AI agents. You can have Exsy engaging and building trust with your prospects or existing customers - on your website, via your corporate email, or on social networks. Exsy will respond on behalf of your firm, following the strategy you chose. Here is a sample setup: - Exsy builds trust with your prospects - by providing direct consultation on the general immigration questions (for a small fee or free of charge - this is up to you); - Qualifies leads and onboards them for a paid consultation - if a prospect is interested in the area of law your firm specializes in - Exsy will ask qualifying questions to determine prospect's elegibility and schedule a meeting with a firm's lawyer; - Supports and builds loyalty with existing customers, by recognizing visitors and referencing internal CRM to understand the context and informing them about the current status, next steps, waiting times, etc. Contact us at info@exsy.io to discuss your firm's unique needs.
As humans, we gain new knowledge by reading books, practicing cases, and applying the knowledge to increasingly complex real life scenarios. That’s exactly how Exsy AI is trained.
Exsy's knowledge consists of over 20000 pages of documents that establish US immigration law and its application (USCIS, INA, DOJ, Court Precedent cases, field manuals and more...). The knowledge base is continuously updated.
Additionally, custom practice-specific knowledge can be added to make Exsy a true member of your team.
Generally, our partners define the area of law they specialize in (e.g. employment immigration); certain criteria for applicants (e.g. country of birth, education, work experience requirements) - this information allows Exsy building a decision tree guiding her responses to a desired outcome (e.g. schedule a paid consultation for eligible prospects with the firm's area-specific attorney).
Additionally, she can connect with your firm's CRM system and reference the records to support discussions with your existing customers.

We continuously update our sources - as soon as a new rule is issued, it is available in Exsy’s database and is used to answer the questions. In the answer, Exsy provides three most relevant primary sources that were used to answer the question - to let you verify the correctness of the response.
It's incredibly easy. Our onboarding is designed to be self-service and takes minutes, not hours. You can embed it on your website with a simple code snippet, share your email for notifications, and customize the questions without any coding knowledge.
We provide templates and support to make the setup process seamless.

For a law firm specializing in Family Immigration, a custom trained agent engages with the website audience and builds trust by answering general immigration questions. When it becomes apparent, that the prospective client is interested in bringing his parents to the US, the agent recognizes a family immigration case and asks questions about the client’s status in the US to determine eligibility. When eligibility is established, the system schedules a consultation with a company’s lawyer and emails the details of the discussion to that lawyer to prepare for the discussion. As a result, non-qualified prospects build loyalty with the company by receiving immediate value; the qualified prospect is onboarded; the company's lawyer does paid consultation with a hot qualified lead.
Try to reload the page and answer the question again - that helps remove unnessary context of the previous discussion and receive a more precise answer. If Exsy’s answer is not quite to the point - try to rephrase your question and use the USCIS’s terminology - you can use the cited sources as a reference.
Exsy remembers the context of the previous questions when answering the follow-up questions. However, when the discussion gets long, the details might be overlooked. We advise reloading the Chat when the discussion gets too long. When you change the topic of the questions - we certainly recommend reloading the Chat to make sure only relevant context is considered for the discussion.

When setting up a custom logic for Exsy to answer questions on your website, you can point us to a custom disclaimer you want Exsy to share with your website visitors.
Additionally, when Exsy is qualifying prospective users to be connected with a practice’s lawyer, you can determine the criteria such as a specific area of law (e.g. family immigration) or eligibility (e.g. being in-status).
While Exsy uses OpenAI’s ChatGPT 4.0 as a base model, additional training and fine-tuning ensures that Exsy’s answers are more accurate and precise. Looking under-the-hood, when ChatGPT answers your question, it searches all over the internet for texts with similar wording - whether it is a fictional movie or a random chat message. Without having the control over the sources of the answer, you cannot be 100% confident the resulting determination can be trusted.
Hand-picked training for Exsy and her references to the primary sources gives you absolute confidence in the accuracy of the answers.

Starting with simple: “What documents are needed to support an application for XXX” to more complex research questions to qualify the eligibility and determine case strategy - all that is the part of the standard chat. We work with customers to develop a practice's specific logic, e.g. defining immigration topics, where Exsy collects additional case-specific information to connect the user with a practice member.
